About Us
Dr. Shmuel Berger Chairman and CEO Intercilium Inc., headed by Dr. Shmuel Berger, leads the field in the development of private and sophisticated information storage systems. Dr. Berger is an internationally recognized expert on the privacy, confidentiality and security of electronic health information. He is also an expert in the design and structure of computer-based medical health records. His background as a medical practitioner, together with his extensive knowledge of privacy issues, gives Intercilium Inc., and PHDtoGo unique advantages in the marketplace. It was while working as a family doctor in North America that Dr. Berger saw first hand the importance of keeping an accessible, detailed, personal medical record -- and of keeping that information private and confidential. Travelers and tourists often arrived without their healthcare records while other patients had illegible, outdated records that they gathered from visits to several practitioners. "PHDtoGo resulted from a very real need for a better system of healthcare record-keeping. We have created an intuitive, flexible application which allows people instant online access to their health information, while also comprehensively protecting their privacy," says Dr. Berger. In June, Dr. Berger was a speaker at a seminar on "Medical Confidentiality in the Age of Computers and the Internet." The seminar, held at Tel Aviv University, was sponsored by the Organization for Medicine and Law. At Intercilium Inc., Dr. Berger heads a core team with over 30 years of combined experience in developing computerized health records. |
